Woongal Environmental Services delivers land management and environmental monitoring across central and north Queensland.
We pair expert environmental scientists with Indigenous Rangers so that Traditional ecological knowledge and science based methods work together on the same project.
THE MEANING OF WOONGAL
In the language of the Wangan and Jagalingou people, Woongal means ‘brigalow boomerang’, a symbol of people returning to care for their traditional country.
Woongal was founded through the leadership of Wangan and Jagalingou people to create long term opportunities for their and other Indigenous people in environmental management.
